How to take the best photos for AI headshots

Updated over 5 months ago

Good input photos = great AI headshots. Follow these quick tips to get the best results:

1. Use Clear, High-Quality Photos (Most Important)

  • Upload 8–12 sharp, high-resolution photos

  • Your full face must be visible, not cropped or blurred

  • Avoid screenshots or social media-compressed images

2. Use Natural Lighting

  • Take photos near a window or in daylight

  • Avoid dark rooms, neon lighting, harsh shadows, or yellow bulbs

  • Soft, even lighting = realistic skin texture + sharper AI output

3. Keep Your Face Real - No Filters

  • No Snapchat filters, skin smoothing, FaceApp, or beauty apps

  • Remove sunglasses, hats, masks, heavy makeup, or hair covering your face

  • A natural face with light makeup works best

4. Show Different Angles & Expressions

Upload a variety of:

  • Front-facing photos

  • Slight left and right angles

  • Neutral, slight smile, natural expressions

  • Indoor and outdoor lighting is okay (as long as your face is clear)

5. Backgrounds Can Be Simple

  • Plain walls, bedrooms, offices - all are fine

  • The AI replaces backgrounds anyway

  • Just make sure nothing blocks your face

Avoid These (They Cause Bad Results)

Blurry or pixelated photos

Only selfies from one angle

Night shots, colored lighting, or shadows

Filters, beauty apps, or face distortions

Clear face + natural light + no filters + 10+ photos = perfect AI headshots.
