How to use Virtual Try-On (AI outfit try feature)

Updated over 4 months ago

Headshotly’s Virtual Try-On feature lets you see how a person would look in different outfits - without wearing them in real life. You simply upload a person’s photo and clothing items, and the AI generates realistic outfit previews.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Open Virtual Try-On

2. Upload Person Image

  • Click Upload Person Image

  • Use a clear, front-facing photo of the person (preferably chest or waist-up)

  • Make sure:

    • Face is visible

    • No filters/heavy shadows

    • Neutral or good lighting

3. Upload Wardrobe/Outfit Image

  • Click Upload Wardrobe Items

  • You can upload clothing like shirts, jackets, dresses, hoodies, etc.

  • Supported formats: PNG, JPG

4. Choose Image Ratio

  • Default is Portrait 16:9, but you may adjust depending on platform (e.g. social media, fashion lookbook, portfolio)

5. Click Generate

  • Press the Generate button

  • AI will process the person + outfit and show the final look on the right side

  • You’ll see output images wearing the selected clothes realistically

Where to Find the Final Images

  • Generated results appear immediately on the right side of the screen

  • You can also view saved results in Dashboard → My Collection

Tips for Best Results

  • Use a high-quality, front-facing person image

  • Make sure clothing images are not wrinkled or cut off

  • Avoid extreme poses or side angles

  • Natural lighting = better fabric placement and realism
